Class Descriptions

Find your perfect class.  Refer to indicators below that describe the level of difficulty.  Instructors are trained to modify movements when needed, just ask!

(A) Body Blitz: This class includes kettlebell, barbell, TRX, spin bikes and body weight movements combined to create superior strength and conditioning. This blitz style class is designed to challenge and condition all parts of your body.

(I/A) Body Rock Bootcamp: Experience high intensity, full body workouts that target major muscle groups of the upper and lower body.  This class is specifically designed to “make it rain” sweat! Get in shape “bootcamp style” by using circuit routines to jump start cardio fitness.  Creative muscle toning is achieved by using dumbbells and bands. We use the participants own body weight too.  Each class brings unique challenges. No two classes are the same! We will work 60 minutes per session to improve cardiovascular stamina, muscular endurance, core strength and flexibility.

(B/I/A) Boxing Bootcamp: We use various station work that includes “old school” boxing conditioning methods such as sledge hammers, tire flips, and sprint work to condition the body.  This class is a two-part mixture of conditioning and boxing.  First half is station work and second half is boxing.

(I/S) Day 1 Spinning: This 30-minute class is specifically tailored for the beginner spinner, senior members or those who are looking for a quick cardio workout. The Spinning program delivers a personalized workout, incredible calorie burn and personal challenge. The class is taught by an instructor with music, yet can be done at a self-directed pace.  This is also a great recovery work out!  Equipment recommendations:  water and a towel

(I/A) Fighter Conditioning: This class is intense and fun.  Fighting Conditioning incorporates bodyweight, cardio, conventional and creative methods to develop maximum strength.  We develop endurance and promote weight loss in this class.

(I/A) Fit Happens Bootcamp: We want to keep your body guessing and challenge you differently in every class! This creative workout is designed to improve your overall fitness, muscular strength, cardio, flexibility, agility and endurance. Have fun and work hard!

(B/I/A) Fitness Boxing: This class uses various styles of training mixed with boxing/kickboxing to tap into your inner beast. Learn boxing techniques that help torch calories and burn fat.  Each class is a new challenge based on participants levels and abilities. Instructors allow the individual to work at their pace- whether you’re a beginner or already in the ring! All levels are welcome.

(I/A) Friday Night Fights: Instructors include short, practical training sets that encourage correct techniques in striking, defense, and evasion. The class relies heavily on sparring-inspired focus mitt work that encourages movement as well striking. Time between mitt work is spent performing various sports training exercises that will help improve your overall strength and fitness level. Other techniques such as elbow strikes are occasionally included in the sets, either by design or special request.

(I/A) HIIT Factor: This High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class is a total body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditioning workout. The interval based class combines full body strength training with high intensity cardio bursts.  This is designed to build cardiovascular endurance while improving strength, building lean muscle and maximizing calorie burn. A high intensity 30-minute workout to help you find the “HIIT” factor in you!

(I)Hit and Fit: Taught by one of our very own USA Boxing competitors.  This class is designed to help you lose weight, build muscle and endurance.  We use boxing movements paired with unique exercises.  We use creative themes with excellent music to help keep you motivated.

(B/I/A) Jabs with Gazetas: This class is led by our professional boxing competitor and will teach ways to throw technical punches and combinations while moving your feet and body like an authentic boxer.  Although you won’t be taking any “punches” in this class, participants will get to utilize boxing movements to torch calories, get fit, and throw like a pro!  Of course, we can’t leave out the intense abdominal/core workout that is delivered in this class.

(I/A) Mitt Class: This class is led by our USA Boxing coach. Participants will utilize mitts with a partner.  Curriculum includes:  throwing punches and combinations like a competitor. Alternating turns with your partner is a thrilling workout with intense cardio.

(B/I/A) Morning Stretch Yoga: A series of yoga poses with a focus on the sun salutation sequences to wake the brain and body while lengthening your muscles.  Relaxation techniques are taught through measured breathing.  Traditional yoga poses will also be used in the class and will ensure students of all levels are challenged. This class helps relieve stress and release pain throughout the body.  Equipment recommendations: yoga mat, yoga blocks and/or yoga straps

(S) Move for Mobility: Our goal is to keep you mobile as possible for as long as possible.  Our bodies are meant to live a life pain free. Come learn how your body works.  Uncover why movement and healthy food choices are the keys to aging gracefully.  Learn how to breathe and prioritize the spine. Become self-aware of how your body moves while working through your body’s fundamental movements.  This class supports your activities of daily living. 

(B/I/A) Ninja Kids: Ninja Warrior inspired obstacles allow kids to explore various ways to problem solve, use their physical abilities, develop mental skills and have fun.  Instructors design a new course each week.  This hour-long class incorporates stretching, jumping, running and playing.  Healthy eating options are discussed.  Ages 7-14 are welcome.

Open Gym: B.O.B members are welcome. Non-members: $15 drop in fee.  Coaches are present.

(B/I/A) Pilates: This class is a conditioning program that develops and improves deep core strength, muscle control, flexibility, coordination and body tone while producing long, lean muscles.  Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low impact flexibility and endurance movements while emphasizing proper postural alignment and muscle balance.  All movements are moderately slow and controlled.  All levels are welcome.

(I/A) Power Barre Fusion: A traditional barre class transformed into a full body-toning experience.  Power Barre Fusion uses traditional barre posture with athletic plyometric and power moves as well as cardio dance insets for HITT training. Along with balance training and barre stretching, weights and bands are incorporated into this 60-min class.

(B/I/A) Pump It Up: This class offers a strength training workout that utilizes an adjustable barbell, plates and body weight. The class is perfect for all ability levels. The adjustable bars are perfect for the high rep training because participants can lift and challenge themselves to reach their personal best. The class utilizes motivating music to address major muscle groups such as legs, chest, triceps, biceps, shoulders and core while increasing your heart rate to make you sweat! The class setting is great for comradery, competition and accountability.

(S) SilverSneakers: Turn back time with this 45-min class that will get you moving to fun music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and activities of daily living for Seniors. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, a sturdy chair, and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance.

(B/I/A) Spin Class: This 60-min intense class is uniquely tailored to suit a wide range of abilities and fitness goals. The Spinning program delivers a personalized workout, incredible calorie burn, and personal challenge. The class is done at a self-directed pace to challenge all fitness levels.  This is taught by an instructor with a variety music.  This is a sweaty good time.  Equipment Recommendations:  water and a towel

(B/I/A) Tai Chi:  Tai Chi (or Taijiquan in full) is an ancient Chinese martial art combining fighting forms and tradition.  Chinese medicine, yin/yang theory (Taoism), and chi kung (energy cultivation) are combined into one complete system. This is the world’s most popular martial art. Tai chi will benefit three primary areas: health, meditation and self-defense. Benefits from regular practice include increased energy and overall health. The senses get “fine-tuned” as awareness, balance, coordination, and flexibility increase. A sense of rejuvenation occurs as the flowing movements provide a meditative state that nurtures the spirit. Knowledge of the martial art applications of the movements and self-defense improves gradually through a natural progression of understanding each move or posture. Of the major family styles of tai chi in the world (Chen, Yang,Wu, Hao, Sun), this class focuses on the Chen style of tai chi which is regarded as the oldest/most orthodox style.

(A) Too Fit to Quit: This high energy class will leave you wanting more! The class offers a combination of strength and stamina movements in a fun yet challenging way. A variety of equipment will be used in conjunction with body weight movements. This class is specific to proper technique and weight training. Come ready to sweat because you are Too Fit to Quit!

(I/A) TRX Strong: TRX suspension was created to provide a dynamic workout that will engage and enhance your muscles. This station-style workout will increase total body flexibility, promote mobility, stability and develop core strength. This class is TRX with a twist!  Come check it out. 

(B/I/A) Yoga Flow: This series of poses are based from the practice of Ashtanga Yoga which moves at a higher aerobic speed. Power yoga is great for strength training and creating leaner, longer muscles. All levels are welcome.   Equipment recommendations: yoga mat, yoga straps and/or yoga blocks.

(B/I/A) Youth Boxing: Children will be instructed on proper footwork and punch techniques to use as self-defense.  This class helps children gain confidence.  It is a fun way to explore a new sport and keep children moving in a safe environment.  This is a fun way to stay fit.
Ages 6-11 are welcome.

(B/I) Zumba: This class is perfect for non-dancers and expert dancers. We take the “work” out of workout by mixing low intensity and high intensity moves.   This is an interval style, calorie burning dance fitness party. Zumba choreography incorporates hip-hop, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo. This Zumba class uses squats, lunges and core tracks. The choreography is repeated each class to build confidence so you can burn more calories. Zumba is a total workout, combining all elements of fitness:  cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility.
